Adoption Details
At Lake Road Vet Rescue, every adoption journey is guided with care, compassion, and the belief that pets are family.
Our process begins with a simple expression of interest. From there, our team thoughtfully matches each pet with the right home, sharing more details and guiding you through the next steps. All pets are supported with advanced veterinary care and will be desexed (or scheduled when age-appropriate), vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date with preventative care before adoption is finalised.
Some pets may begin their journey in foster care, ensuring they’re safe, supported, and ready for their next chapter.

Become a Foster Carer
Complete this form if you are looking to become a foster carer for Lake Road Vet Rescue. We have a number of patients looking for Foster Carers while awaiting their adoptive homes. Patients particularly those that have high needs, illness or are orphans often require foster care while waiting for a forever home. This can be a valuable way for potential Fur Parents to slowly introduce pets to their home without the permanent commitment of a Fur Baby. Patients can be in foster homes for as little as a few days but as long as a few months.
Surrender a Patient
Complete this form if you are looking to surrender a patient to Lake Road Vet Rescue. We endeavour to find placement for all surrendered patients. Some patients are able to come straight into our care especially those in emergency situations. Others may have to go on a short-term waitlist until a foster carer is available.
Rescue Patient Waitlist
Complete this form if you are wanting to adopt a specific type of rescue patient. This may be a specific age, breed or sex of a rescue pet.

Lake Road Vet Rescue is only able to provide this service due to the kindness of our sponsors and community contributions. Our foster carers and staff all generously donate their time, money and resources to provide for these patients in need. All money and resources contributed to LRVR go directly to patients in need.

We adopted Luka almost 2 months ago and he has settled in beautifully. Luka is so loving and the second we sit on the couch he's straight in for a cuddle. He mastered his toilet training very quickly and we are off to obedience training next week! Thanks, Lake Road Vet for helping Luka find his forever home ❤️
